Success Key No. 2: Image Making – Autosuggestion

Image Making (or Autosuggestion) is the agency of communication between that part of the mind where conscious thought takes place and that which serves as the seat of action for the subconscious mind.  The dominating thoughts whih one permits to remain in the conscious mind - whethere these thoughts be negative or positive is immaterial - will reach and influence the subconscious mind.  Based on the Law of Autosuggestion from Think and Grow Rich by Napoleon Hill
In probably the greatest Success classic of all time, Think and Grow Rich by Napoleon Hill, the principle of Image Making is discussed at length as a critical Success Key.  Hill does not refer to the concept of Image Making by its name, but, in the language of the times, Hill has termed it "Autosuggestion."  Image Making and Autosuggestion are essentially one in the same.

We must guard our conscious thoughts and reject those that do not empower us towards achieving our Success.
Image Making, or Autosuggestion, may be summarized as follows, based on the teachings of Hill in Think and Grow Rich (Chapter 3 of Think and Grow Rich is entitled "Autosuggestion"), which I have embellished with my own spin:
The dominating thoughts which one permits to remain in the conscious mind - whether these thoughts be negative or positive is immaterial - will reach and influence the subconscious mind through the "Law of Autosuggestion" or Image Making.  All sense impressions wihch are perceived through the five senses are captured and processed by the conscious thinking mind, and unless they are rejected by the conscious  thinking mind, are passed automatically to and impressed upon the subconscious mind, which has NO ability to reject any thought impression and MUST accept - as true - all such thoughts passed to it by theconscious mind.
This is a major Success Key.  Notice the words which have been emphasized in the above paragraph: "permits" and "reach and influence."  We must guard our conscious thoughts and reject those that do not empower us towards achieving our Success.  Our conscious mind is indeed the gatekeeper of the garden of the subconscious mind.  We reap what we sow, and if we harbor (sow) thoughts of lack, limitation, poverty, doubt and fear - which may or may not be premised on present circumstances - then we must reap that which has planted.
As Hill further states in Think and Grow Rich: "Autosuggestion is the agency of control through which an individual may voluntarily feed his or her subconscious mind on thoughts of a creative nature, or, by neglectpermitthoughts of a destructive nature to find their way into this rich garden of the mind."  [emphasis supplied]
What are you feeding your subconscious garden?  What seeds are being planted deep within your powerful emotional mind?  What are you sowing?  What do you permit your mind to harbor - thoughts of a creative nature or thoughts of a destructive nature?  It is your mind; you have the ability to control what you think.  You MUST accept this principle as true if you are ever to acheive real, honest and everlasting Success in your life.
It is your mind; you have the ability to control what you think.  You MUST accept this principle as true if you are ever to acheive real, honest and everlasting Success.
Success can only be achieved through Successful Thought.  Successful Thought begins with one thought at a time.  Begin - at once - to persist in Successful Thinking, for the thoughts you entertain are the seeds of tomorrow's garden.  You have the God-given ability to accept or reject any thought.  Reject immediately any thoughts of lack, limitation, poverty, despair, fear and doubt and entertain only those thoughts of abundance, riches, happiness and Success and you will be well on your way to creating a Self Image of Success
